Hollows + Indoor shoes - Frodsham - 28/07/22

 28/07/22 - Kash22, Frodsham.

Thursday, I hopped on a train from Liverpool to Chester then onto Frodsham later on for another gig with Hollows. Plus supports indoor shoes. This gig was, like Liverpool, organised by the fab Softlad Promotions.

Indoor Shoes

First and the only support of the evening was the amazing Indoor Shoes. They're a fantastic local band who played a fantastic set and got the small crowd of people nicely warmed up for Hollows. I really liked what this band played especially their song about Blackpool!! Staying true to my roots there as I am indeed from up that end.
I would love to come back and see these again and have a chat and meet them properly. They're really good and I loved everything about them. I wish them all the best for the future and I hope our paths cross again one day.

Hollows

Once again Hollows need no introduction. As this is the 3rd write up for them on this tour so far. Frodsham was a fab gig and they rocked the stage so much!! I really enjoyed their set myself like I always do. Things got heated and sweaty real fast and everyone present was having a great time. The lads played a mix of original songs, unreleased songs that I now know by heart and some covers which totally blew the roof off Kash22.
This date was one of those ones that I will remember for a long time. The lads really looked after me and made sure I got back into Chester to my hotel ready to do it all again in Leeds!!! I really owe them everything.

Hollows and Supports - Chester - 25/07/22

 25/07/22 - Alexander’s, Chester.

A quick trip on the train from Liverpool to Chester and a hotel check in later. I was in Chester on the first night of my 6 night run of gigs with the amazing band that is Hollows. There will be more blog posts as the week goes on. But Monday kicked off a week of fab gigs, drunken nights, heavy hangovers and just good times. There’ll be a write up for every show except from Sheffield as little Court here got too drunk to remember who was on. Whoops.

Terry Lewis and The Hitmen.

First and the only support act of the evening due to artists sadly pulling out. Was Terry Lewis and The Hitmen. Who I must say before i begin their review are one of the best dressed bands I have ever seen. Of course the bands I see dress nice, but they had full on suits on and I thought that was brilliant. Their sound is also completely different to the usual indie, pop punk and rock i normally get to hear. They sounded like they’d just time travelled from the 50s or 60s. Now despite only being 23 years of age I grew up on this style of music. Which is maybe why I have such a diverse music taste now, especially in the unsigned grassroots music scene. I really enjoyed this band so much, they have amazing songs and I really hope I can get out and see them again soon. I wish them all the best.

Hollows

Next up were the headliners of the night, Hollows. These guys have had write ups before and I enjoy writing them up every single time. Now with added photos to match. Hollows are next level, they have a great sound and fantastic personalities to match. These lads are super down to earth and they’re always looking after me at shows. Making sure I’m alright getting to and from shows. Their set was incredible!! They mixed covers with originals but the crowd in Chester ended up really enjoying them. The gig was quiet for them but on a Monday it really went off for Hollows. They make me so proud. As you’ll all see when more articles get released. Is that I adore this band with my entire heart and I’m happy they came into my life at the correct time. I have nothing bad to say about them at all. Deep down I love how protective they are of me too. Once this gig was over they made sure I was ok getting back to my hotel which was only a short walk away from the venue anyway. But not many other bands do this unless we’ve gone on a night out. So I respect them so much for that.

I’m buzzing for the rest of the write ups that I can do for this band, so many more articles to come from different days of this tour. I am having the best week and I don’t want it to end.

Hollows live @ HMV Chester - 02/04/2022

 02/04/2022 - Chester

A fairly long distance trip over two trains, brought me into the lovely city of Chester to watch Hollows as they played a set in HMV's basement for their "Live and local event." Which is a fab event which showcases upcoming talent from the Cheshire area and surrounding areas such as North Wales and Manchester.

Hollows

Hollows were the only band to perform, they played a short 45 minute set in the basement area of HMV. Their set was incredible. I have only ever seen these lads once before but they just make me want to keep coming back for more. They are incredible!! We have gotten so close in just a month too. I got to meet them properly and speak to the lads before and after their set. They are genuine and really humble, which is the biggest factor that I look for when choosing bands to follow. I know I'll be sticking by them for a long time.
They played an all original set, which of course again I know all the words to most of their songs now after listening and streaming for the past month or so. Including their latest single "Enough - These Bones" which is an incredible track I enjoy listening to on my adventures. They have such a unique sound that is so different to other artists I go and see. Hollows also have other shows planned throughout the year, many of which I am planning to attend. They also have a tour coming up this July, this is a tour not to be missed. So make sure to buy some tickets and support these guys, they truly deserve it. I am planning a round trip of the UK for these guys, simply to just see them again and again. They're that good.

Big thanks to Hollows, and all the staff at HMV Chester for an amazing event. This store do many Live and Local events with many other talented bands. More information about these can be found instore or on their social media pages. I would love to haver a few readers go down and support the many talented individuals that get to play here. Support Local!!!!

The Montagues + Supports @ Kash22, Frodsham. 31/03/22

 31/03/22 - Frodsham - Cheshire

After a rather eventful journey to and from Frodsham in Cheshire, I headed down to Kash22 to see a band I just love and adore so much now as part of a small tour they're currently on to promote their single "Pollyanna"

The Venue

Kash22 is a small bar and venue in the centre of Frodsham, just around the corner from the train station for easy access. This venue has a nice feel to it with a really cosy vibe. Its decor just screams music with bands all over the walls and vintage tour posters which just really nice to see. I would love to come back here for more shows in the future.

Grace Nicole

Grace played a solo acoustic set which was just amazing!! This girl has the most amazing voice I have ever heard and it is honestly so unique. I could've sat there and listened to her sing for hours!! Grace is local to the area hailing from Warrington, another nice place for gigs and festivals. Her set was a mix of covers and original tracks which sounded amazing and got the small crowd that came down early in high spirits. Grace was a fantastic choice for an opening artist. Would I see her again? Yes, if she does more shows around Cheshire and Warrington I would defo try and make it back to see her again. She is one to watch in the music scene, she will go far!!! Fantastic night started off by Grace.

The Montagues

The Montagues, a band I have seen a good number of times now, and I am so grateful to have these lads in my life. I honestly do not deserve them one bit. If I hadn't gone to see them in Wales last October I don't know where I'd be right now. They've just come at the right time and are just amazing lads.
The lads played a fantastic set, just like they always do. I always enjoy their shows because they're always so amazing! They played mostly original songs and its reached the point where these guys can play an original song and I will sing back as I just know all their songs now. The Montagues are a great band who have the best sound. I can't wait to get to see them more often and travel the UK for them. Liverpool on the 9th April will be an amazing gig and I am super excited for it!!!!

This gig was one of the special shows and a huge thanks to everyone at Kash22 and Softlad promotions for having an amazing venue and putting on a fantastic show!!!
