My 4th show of the year brought me to Manchester, to The Deaf Institute again, to once again see the fabulous Deco with The Covasettes as support.
The venue
The Deaf Institute. A venue I have visited quite a lot now, and will always have a special place in my heart. I had a drink in their first-floor bar whilst waiting for the gig to start. I had managed to turn up an hour and a half early as doors opened later than planned. But still, I was able to sit in out of the freezing January cold and have a pint before going upstairs to the music hall.
The Covasettes
The Covasettes, these lads are sensational!!!! I have been following them for about a year,
but this was my first time seeing these guys live. Sadly I couldn't catch them after their set, but their set was amazing! They gathered a crowd and I saw a few people wearing their merch around me. Being local to Manchester they got local people to come and see them which is always great to see. They played a few originals which were fantastic and I really enjoyed seeing them at last. I got given a setlist and a guitar pick at the end, I actually love this part so much, being picked out of the many who turned out for them. It will be treasured in my gig scrapbook which holds ticket stubs, postcards, and setlists. I will 100% be coming to see these lads, again and again, they are the absolute best. Hopefully next time we can have a proper chat so I can get to know this band as best as I can. I wish The Covasettes all the best for the future and I can't wait to see what 2022 brings for these lads. Well done!

Deco
Yep, I know this is the second blog post about Deco because I literally wrote about them on Monday. But every gig I attend gets accounted for, even if bands end up being written about 2/3 times!!! the more you know the better.
This was my second time seeing Deco in a week. And at the time of writing this, it has been 1 week since I typed their name into Spotify, and aren't we glad that I did. I got more to the front this time and more central as i knew their songs better. I went in my shirt that i bought at Liverpool's show to look the part. Again their set was amazing. Can't find anything to fault. I thought they sounded even better the second time around, as sometimes, you need to see a band or a singer more than once to truly appreciate everything about them and what they have to offer.
They again did a meet and greet at their merch table after the show, getting stuck in selling off their own merch to very happy fans. I really like it when bands take time out to do this, they could've easily packed up and left, but would rather stay and meet us fans at the end really tops it off. I took a few photos of other people before heading home for the night. They are really amazing people who are so humble and that just makes me want to go back and see them more often. I think ill be on their next tour doing all their northern dates, as they are one of the rare bands who put my home city of Preston on the tour. Extra brownie points from me. I can't wait to see what Deco brings in the future and I am really excited to get out on the road and see them again sometime.
