18/02/22 - Horwich, Bolton, Greater Manchester.
Friday night, I went down to the Victoria and Albert pub in Horwich in Bolton for a small local gig with only one band. I have actually known Flash Floods for about a year and this was my second time going to see them after finding a likeness to them in Warrington over a year ago. This post is really short but it still was a really amazing gig!!
The venue
The Victoria and Albert Is a small pub in Horwich, which is just on the outside of Bolton. It has a really lovely homely feel to it and the vibes were just good. The staff are lovely and the drinks are even better!!!! The place is only small but it looks way bigger inside, with an upstairs as well as a mini stage and ground floor bar and seating area. I enjoyed my time here a lot.
Flash Floods
Flash Floods are very different from any other band I go and see. Which is that they have no original songs. They are an indie covers band!!!! I love this because covers are usually songs everyone knows anyway and it takes off the pressure of going off and learning entire albums and EPs. I could only watch an hour set because I had to be back home to pack for London the next day but the hour I watched was amazing. They play all the best songs and attracted a crowd. Everyone was singing and having a great time. Defo kept us all nice and warm and inside out of the cold hearing some fantastic music. Flash floods are a fantastic band and I am defo coming back to see them when they play locally. They are also from my home city of Preston which makes them way better and I know they'll always play around these areas so I can get travelling around for them a bit. I wish them all the best for the future and I'm so excited for what they have in store. Well done guys!!!
