Hey everyone. Quick heads up before I get writing this blog. Lots of emotions and even some tears were shed writing this up. The show I'm about to review I had a little cry at too. Also, it is one of my last gigs of 2021. So I will be back reviewing gigs and artists for you all again in 2022!! Have a fab Christmas and new year and I can't wait to be back on the gig circuit seeing old and new faces again.
Friday evening saw me getting a train into the wonderful city of Liverpool once again to see a band who I am very close with, Hollywood Eyes. This gig was their first headline in over 2 years and I was just too excited to see the lads again after a 5-week gap where I went all the way to Wrexham in north Wales to see them. I actually enjoyed myself so much and got super emotional, but there's more to come on that later on. Also, this blog entry could end up looking like my 5000-word university essays, only with less rubbish and more useful info jammed in.
My first ever photo with the lads. Here's to many more!!! |
The gig was held at EBGBS again, a venue I am starting to love, the low arch you need to duck under to get to the stage area, the fact whoever made the venue kept original stuff inside, the venue is adorable but can fit a fair few people in, a bit like a Tardis, Small on the outside but huge on the inside. I have written a bit about this venue in another blog post which can be found under the "Liverpool Shows" tab, so I won't repeat it too much. Not like my dyslexia does that for me anyway 😆

The first band onto the stage was a band I have in fact seen before. I first crossed paths with these lads back in August at the amazing RivFest in Warrington. (no surprise, went originally for Hollywood Eyes and 32Tens, ended up with these lads too, the more the better!!!) So I knew what their sound was like already and already knew a fair few of their songs on the night so I got to sing along too and that really goes unnoticed when you're front centre in the crowd. What a set!! These guys bring it again and again and that is what keeps me sticking by any band and keeps me coming back for more music and laughs.
They were just how I first remembered them when I saw them in August. Amazing. These lads are actually off the scale and that isn't me just saying that because I've gotten to know them because we didn't actually meet properly until after the show. They are genuine guys who just want to be loved and supported and I can't wait to see what the future brings for these guys and I can't wait to be there supporting them every single time. They deserve all the love. I wish them all the best for the future and I will be there the entire time as a supporter, but also in time as a friend. Best wishes lads.

Arcadians
Next up was a band called Arcadians. Never heard of them before but dang they're quirky AF!!!! Which in my book is a damn good thing, because you should be able to go a bit wild doing what you adore without fear of being judged. These guys are amazing!!! and have lots of room for improvement and growth. Blew me away!! They attracted a crowd being local to Liverpool and it was great to see everyone having a fab time and just vibing!!
I am in the works of following these guys on everything and will update the blog accordingly once I have found everything. I am giving these lads a 9 in my ratings simply because there is room to grow and I can't wait for what next year and the future brings for these lads. Amazing talent here being slept on. I wish them all the best in the future and I really wish I could write more but there's plenty of time to do that. Fab job guys.

Hollywood Eyes
Quick warning, This section could become a full-on essay. Because I am full-on smitten with this band and they mean the actual world to me and they know it.
This has got to be one of the BEST sets I have ever seen from them. They brought out all the best tracks as well as a few cheeky new ones. They even had someone filming a damn music video for them on the night too.
I had the best time and may have even cried a few too many times from pure happiness. This was hands down one of the best shows I have seen them at and they need to whip out more headliners because I will be at every damn one.
These lads stand out to me because they will do pretty much anything for me, not because they have to because they want to. Same with me really. I travel for these guys because I love seeing them happy to see me and want to spend time with me and we've grown so much closer in the last 3 years. Imagine if I hadn't attended the first show I saw them at. My world would be very different. They've done so much for me and this includes Connor and George too. The past few years and months have been the absolute best. Which is why I cannot rate them. They're priceless in my eyes. It's got to that point where I am getting their logo tattooed onto my skin, just because I'll have something all the time to look at (and probs cry at too). I love all the gigs they do and I am so excited to be able to travel the country for these guys. No other band tops em, can't even try. It sounds hella corny to have a "Heart band" but I do in these lads. They are my heart band and I am never ever leaving their side. It would break me to leave them behind. After such a tough year for everyone being able to see these guys all over the place and even travel 3 hours to wales for them is one of the best experiences that I
Forever loving our iconic group photos from shows |
will never forget!!!
Once again I wish these guys all the best in the future and I can't wait to be at all the shows next year and probably for a very long time. I got slightly tearful writing this too so I do apologise if it's really cringey, or creepy. But thank you for a lovely gig, one I ain't ever forgetting. I adore these lads to the moon and beyond. All the love.
